Declarations · where AI is used, and where it isn't

The Magic community is rightly wary of AI, so here's the complete list, in plain sight, kept current.

Where AI is used

Writing the code. I'm a solo developer, and I build Manahaul pair-programming with an AI coding assistant (Anthropic's Claude). I decide what gets built, review the work, and everything ships behind hundreds of automated tests.
The card scanner. Recognition runs on a computer-vision model trained to identify real printings. That's pattern-matching, not generative AI. It identifies your card; it never invents one. Camera frames go only to the recognition service, and the only ones kept are hard cases (scans that missed or nearly missed), which I review by hand and use to tune the scanner.
The bug-report chat. The report-a-problem widget is FixPilot, an AI assistant that asks a couple of follow-up questions so your report reaches me with the details intact.
Some artwork and words. The Manahaul logo was drawn with AI help, the reward-tier emblems on the Kickstarter page started from an AI image tool before hand editing, and site and campaign copy gets drafted with AI assistance; I edit and sign off on every line.

Where it isn't

No fake product shots. Every screenshot on this page and every frame of the campaign video is a real, unretouched capture of the working app.
No AI-generated card art. Card images and card data come from Scryfall's database. Magic card art belongs to Wizards of the Coast and its artists.
No AI prices. Every number is live marketplace data from TCGplayer, Card Kingdom, Mana Pool, CardTrader, and eBay, with shipping added up the boring, deterministic way. No model guesses a price.
No AI reading your collection. Your decks, collection, and account data are never fed to an AI model and never used to train one.
